Ballet Coaching & Workshops was founded in 2014 by dance professional Emma Layne. Emma works on enhancing the knowledge and practice of her students; carefully breaking down the complex elements of classical ballet. Through her inclusive teaching approach she is able to bring out the best of each individual, with students demonstrating clear understanding and progress.

Emma builds a strong rapport with students who chose private coaching. She is able to guide them towards achieving their individual goals, and offer supportive training which students are able to understand, and apply to their classes and practice.

Emma graduated from Central School of Ballet with a BA (Hons) in Professional Dance & Performance in 2009. Emma's performance repertoire includes classical ballet productions, neo-classical works, and show productions on International stages. Her professional engagements include: Ballett Magdeburg, Balletto di Vicenza, Ballet Cymru, German Dance Sensation, Ballet Central, Staatstheater Braunschweig and Nordharzer Städtbundtheater. Emma currently works in Berlin as freelance artist, choreographer, ballet coach and artistic director for dance projects.

As a teacher, Emma started her career working with students who benefited from private coaching support due to late start/learning difficulties; and training young professionals from other disciplines including gymnastics, iceskating and Irish dance. Emma has taught popular open ballet classes for adults since 2010, and has choreographed and co-ordinated projects with dance students, adult groups and professional dancers. Emma has also taught regular classes to students on the Centre of Advanced Training Programme in Salford, and led ballet classes with piano accompaniment. In 2014, Emma attained her Masters level teaching qualification on the Professional Dancers' Postgraduate Teaching Programme accredited by the Royal Academy of Dance. Emma continues to travel around Europe to deliver workshops on technique, artistry and repertoire, and prepares students for RAD examinations. In the last 5 years, Emma has toured internationally, worked with the German rhythmic gymnastics team as ballet trainer, and continues to study psychology modules.

Emma enjoys 1-1 intensive training with clients around Berlin, as well as working online a wide network of clients from various time zones.
